A bra that digs into your shoulders, band, or sides is not a sign you need a smaller size. Nine times out of ten it is a fit problem you can fix. Here is what each kind of digging means and how to solve it.
Shoulders: straps cutting in
If your straps leave grooves, they are carrying too much of the work. That usually means the band is too loose, so the weight shifts to your shoulders. The fix is a firmer band that does the lifting, plus wider, softer straps that spread the pressure. Tightening straps alone is a band-aid, not a fix.
Band: digging into your ribs or back
A band that digs or rolls is often the wrong size or sitting too high. It should sit level around your body and feel snug but not pinching. Use your size guide to confirm your band, and look for a wide, smooth band that distributes pressure instead of cutting one hard line.
Sides and underarms
Poking at the sides usually comes from rigid edges or underwires in the wrong size. Smooth, seamless edges and a wireless design remove the hard points that dig in.
How AirForm is built to not dig in
- Wide, soft straps that spread weight instead of cutting in.
- A smooth, wider band and U-shaped back for even pressure.
- No underwire, so there are no hard points at the sides.
Quick fit check: you should be able to slide two fingers under the band and straps. If straps leave marks but the band feels loose, you likely need a firmer band, not looser straps.
